Denette Dunn is a sustainability expert and public speaker who has dedicated much of her career to public service. She previously served as a vice mayor and is currently a council member for the Pine District.
As a council member, Denette initiated the Pine Citizens Advisory Committee to address her district's needs and concerns. What started as a small committee has since expanded to over 100 members, including residents and public officials, reflecting her commitment to building a more connected and responsive community.
Dunn has also gained extensive experience in the private sector, most notably with Republic Services, where she worked as the Municipal Services Manager for over five years. In this role, she managed over $85 million in municipal contracts in the southwest region. She also served as a registered lobbyist, advocating for legislation that promoted mutually beneficial relationships between the public and private sectors.
In addition to her work in local government and the private sector, Denette Dunn has served on various boards and commissions, such as the WESTMARC Board and the Peoria Planning and Zoning Commission. She has also been a key leader in the Arizona Recycling Coalition, serving as president and legislative liaison to promote environmental stewardship in the state.
Before entering public service, Dunn held multiple roles in marketing, sales, and management. From 2007 to 2011, she worked as the Director of Marketing and Community Relations at Hudson Baylor Corporation. There, she managed material recovery operations, developed public relations strategies, and built meaningful relationships with municipal leaders, securing grants and sponsorships for various projects.
Dunn’s professional journey continued at Republic Services, where she played a key role in managing municipal contracts and lobbying efforts. Later, at Dickson Sweeping, she helped the company expand its operations in Arizona and Nevada, working on projects like constructing compressed natural gas fuel stations.
Since 2019, Denette Dunn has served as a Peoria Council member, focusing on improving her community.
Beyond her professional roles, she supports charitable organizations like Hart Pantry, West Valley Connect, and You Matter Too, an anti-bullying nonprofit in Peoria.
